At present, the police have cracked the case and arrested three accused and have also recovered the stolen goods.
The matter is of Rampur village of Sarai Inayat police station area. On March 9, there was theft in Vinay Kumar Soni’s house. The family members had gone to attend a wedding ceremony. When they returned on the morning of March 10, they found the lock of the house broken and gold and silver jewelery worth about Rs 70 lakh was missing.
The police registered the case and started investigation and several teams were assigned the responsibility of investigation. But the revelations in this case surprised even the police. Actually, the thieves had planned very cleverly before carrying out this incident.
During the investigation, it came to light that the accused had befriended a girl from the victim’s family on Instagram. Gradually the conversation escalated and one of the accused trapped the girl in conversation. After winning the trust, he took complete information about the precious jewelery kept in the house and the family.
Based on the information received from the girl, the accused came to know when the family would be out of the house. As soon as the whole family went to the wedding on March 9, thieves took advantage of the opportunity and entered the house and stole the jewellery.
The police got a big clue during the investigation when the girl from the victim’s family herself told that she had informed a person about the house being vacant. From here the direction of the case changed. The police found clues about the accused through cyber tracking and local inputs.
The accused used to do artisan work in jewelery shops.
Eventually the police arrested all three accused. The age of all three is said to be only 19 years. He does not have any previous criminal record. During interrogation, the accused admitted that they used to work as craftsmen in jewelery shops, due to which they had knowledge of gold and silver.
After the theft, the accused hid the jewelery near Nasirapur underpass in Sarai Inayat area. The police have recovered the entire stolen goods on their information.
Regarding this entire matter, DCP Kuldeep Singh Gunawat said that on the basis of the arrest and recovery of the accused, relevant sections have been increased in the case. At present, action is being taken against all three.
