There were two types of countries in the Middle East, a group that gave priority to economic development such as UAE, Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Qatar etc. The second group was in an arms race, which included Iraq, Iran and Syria. Iraq attempted to make a nuclear bomb in 1981, which was stopped by Israel. Similarly, in 2007, Syria was close to developing nuclear weapons but Israel destroyed it. In 2010, Iran also tried to increase its nuclear capacity in the region but a computer virus destroyed their nuclear reactor.
