This train will now travel directly from Jammu to Srinagar instead of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra. According to railway officials, with the start of this new service, the travel time between Jammu and Srinagar will reduce to just 5 hours.

It will not only be faster than the road route, but will also be more reliable during winter and peak season. Till now, passengers had to change trains at Katra or resort to road to reach Srinagar. Now getting direct train from Jammu will save time and make the journey comfortable.

Already on Katra-Srinagar section Vande Bharat The Express has received a good response, and now the extension to Jammu is expected to further strengthen regional connectivity.
